Oil Palm In Ghana
Palm oil is the most consumed of all the oils in Ghana. Apart from its industrial and domestic uses, its production is a major source of income to oil palm farmers and processors nationwide.
Available information indicates that Ghana has a demand of 240,000tonnes of CPO annually, actual annual production level of 100,000tonnes, leaving an annual deficit of 140,000tonnes.
There is a great potential of high quality CPO replacing other imported oils in this country. To take advantage of this ever - expanding market for CPO due to its varied requirement for household and industrial uses, Adansi Oil Mills Ltd was established in the late 80’s with the view to producing good/quality oil that would meet specific demand of its ever-increasing consumers. The Company currently processes and supplies CPO to some of the major palm oil consumers in the country.
This Business Plan seeks to examine the financial viability or otherwise in the production of high quality CPO for secondary processors and industries that rely on CPO for their businesses.
